Fernando Castillo's early Buzzard. Right Side.

Early 1990s or late 1989 Buzzard. Right Side.

Fernando Castillo's early Buzzard. Left Side.

Early 1990s or late 1989 Buzzard. Left Side.

In 2012, Paul Schreck and I visited Earon Carter at his home/shop in Chula Vista. At the time Earon was working full steam on producing markers that Paul and a few others were helping him sell and the walls of his shop were lined with vintage paintguns that spanned Carter Machine’s history from 1985/86 as South Bay Arms, up to the current Goose and Sterling prototypes he was messing around with. This Buzzard was hanging on the wall in a disheveled state and although Paul asked about purchasing it Earon wasn’t willing to let it go.

Eventually Earon did sell this marker to Paul and it was passed around for a year or so before it landed in my collection. It’s unique (as most of Earon’s markers are) in that it has welded pump arms and a slip on Cal Ordnance (?) front sight. It also features Ken Kidd’s straight back bottle asa which allows a pump changer or lever changer to come straight out.
